At over 1,600 meters elevation, morning fog frequently drifts through ancient cedar groves, creating mysterious forest scenes with twisted trees emerging from mist. The area's Swiss-style architecture adds unexpected elements when fog settles over the town. Nearby Azrou's cedar forests and resident Barbary macaques create unique fog compositions. Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains benefits from its 600-meter elevation—morning fog occasionally settles over the blue-painted medina, creating ethereal scenes as blue walls emerge from mist.
