Join the beta program and help test the native Android app

PhotoWeather for Android is currently in closed beta testing. Beta testers get early access to the native Android app and help identify issues before the public launch.

The Android app includes the same core features as the iOS app: instant push notifications, full rule management, and opportunity tracking—all with native Android performance.

How to Join the Beta

Join the Google Group

This gives you access to the beta version on Google Play. You must be signed in to the Google account you use on your Android device.

Opt In to Beta Testing

After joining the group, visit the beta testing page and click "Become a tester" to enable beta access for your account.

Install from Google Play

Once you've opted in, install or update the app from Google Play to get the beta version.

Sign In & Start Testing

Open the app and sign in with your PhotoWeather account (or create a new one). All your rules and locations will sync automatically if you're an existing user.

Create and edit rules with the complete rule builder. Browse templates and customize conditions.

Do I need a PhotoWeather account?

Yes. You can create a free account when you first open the app, or sign in with an existing account if you're already using PhotoWeather on the web or iOS.

Will my rules sync between devices?

Yes. All your rules, locations, and preferences sync instantly between the Android app, iOS app, and web app.

Is the beta free?

Yes. The beta app is free to download and use. Subscriptions cannot be purchased directly in the beta app, but if you have a Pro subscription from the web, it applies to the Android app automatically.

When will the public version launch?

The Android app will launch publicly once beta testing confirms stability across different Android devices and OS versions. There's no fixed date yet.

Can I leave the beta program?

Yes. You can leave the Google Group at any time. You can also opt out of beta updates via the Google Play Store page for PhotoWeather.
